[ Pain isn't something that Sylvia particularly likes and it's why she does what she does when it comes to trying to prevent pain from being inflicted on another for no reason (in her mind). They're all witches and while she knows that killing one another is a necessary evil, there's nothing that says they can't do it sensibly. ]

To be fair, some people do enjoy pain. Obviously, unless they want to die they don't enjoy dying, but a fair amount of people enjoy pain. Masochists and all, the sadists do too, but that's more the pain of others instead of themselves.

[ Bansky is off to one side, not hovering per say but somewhere at the very edges of Sylvia's shadow, chewing idly on a toothpick. ]

Sounds like funny business, y'ask me. [ A beat. ] Not that y'did none.

[impartiality]

[ Guarding. That's what Sylvia calls the not really hovering that Bansky does. If she was another person, she'd call him a guard dog, but that's not what he is to her. She glances at him for a moment. ]

It may be funny business but it's their funny business. I mean, I may not think it's fun to see another person crying, but some people do. I don't judge, technically. [ A beat, she knows she kind of does but it's a minor detail. ] You're going to get a splinter in your mouth if you keep that up.

Not that I intend to tender further discussion on the topic, but I think they might be talking about slightly more metaphorical pain. Like — wrongs in general.
