[ A beat, measuring. He doesn't look familiar and Mina tries to know everybody. ]

[He knows when he's being measured, and he doesn't like it, touches of discomfort at the edges of his expression and posture.]

I'm not going to deny its uses. Like is something else.

[officiate]

[ She's no bloodhound, but in many ways Mina doesn't have to be to be able to tell that he's got mojo in him. The hows and whys, though, she doesn't go digging for. Not yet, at least. ]

Some people like being practical, and it can be. But you don't see carpenters running around, falling in love with their hammers for a reason.

Can't say it's my bag, but you can be proud of a table and chairs. There's nothing to be proud of in a bloody pulp.

I think that depends on what that bloody pulp earns you.
